It's been about 8 months since we have been back in our house from our little adventure in the Middle East. We are pretty much settled in now. But we have had a hard time figuring out where to put all our furniture. We purchased some furniture while we were living in the Middle East and needless to say it has been a bear trying to get it to all fit in our little home.
We sold some of it on craig's list ...and the rest well we just keep moving stuff around to try and make it fit. The most problematic piece has been a rather large green sectional sofa. I am not sure what I was thinking when I bought this. Our home over sea's was gigantic, but our house here is tiny.
This weekend we decided to flip the entire house and try the furniture in different rooms.
We moved just about everything from one room into another.
The great news is I think we finally figured out a way to make the big couch fit.
The only problem we seem to have left is a rather blah looking wall in our living room.
I think today I will paint a horse picture for this wall since I have some pretty big canvas out in the garage.
Here some pictures of how it turned out...
This is the family room where we like to play games and watch movies...this is where the green couch ended up. I love it in here actually because now there is a place for all of us to sit. Before someone always ended up on the floor.
Reading area right across from the fire place....
Fireplace and sewing nook....
This is the front family room...another place we love to hang out drink coffee and read. Anna says she loves this room with all the dark wood because it feels so old fashioned to her.
This is that wall that I need to figure out what to do with???
I am thinking just a huge painting for the right and I will use colors that compliment the room.
Or maybe center the picture with the candle holders on the side??
What do you think. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment.
Happy Monday!!

Well, I couldn't tell what the picture was (in between the candles), but it seems like it would work fine moved over....
ReplyDeleteIt's very lovely, Heather. The important thing is what works for your family :)
I think it all looks great! I love your home. Whatever you do will be awesome you could just re center the stuff that is there or do something new.
ReplyDeleteYour whole place looks comfy cozy. I'm really smitten with what I thought was an old 45 record player? Wish I still had mine.
ReplyDeleteDear Heather,
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job squeezing everything in! A nice big couch is always a plus; I'm glad there was room. I'd say that a horse painting would be just the thing for your corner.
Love,
Marqueta
